Ford Motor Company recently announced that the In-Dash Computer installed in 2010 Transit Connect vehicles cannot be repaired on a timely basis. They’ve provided authorized dealers to provide the client with:
- A full monetary refund of the In-Dash Computer (and Tool Link where appropriate) price listed on the vehicle window sticker
- Install a Ford audio system in place of the In-Dash Computer on your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor)
Many of my clients find this remedy unacceptable as one of the selling points of the 2010 Ford Transit Connect was the In-Dash Computer system.
Ford may have sent you a document called “Ford Motor Company Customer Release Service Repair (In-Dash Computer) and requested that you sign it. DO NOT SIGN THE RELEASE. You may be giving up your rights.
